For the first time since we moved to Koryo I rode my bike and took some pictures. It was a sunny but cool Saturday afternoon. There aren’t many mountains, but there are nice narrow roads. I borrowed a mirrorless digital camera with interchangeable lenses. It has many functions and I am still learning how to use it. Using the manual mode the photos looked dull. So I tried editing them to make them look make more vivid.

加温栽培畑の粗せん定を始めました。3か４芽の長さの枝を残します。2月ごろに本せん定をします。次は二重被覆栽培の畑です。雨よけの栽培の畑は来年です。

せん定をする前に加温栽培の畑のかん水チューブを変えました。約450　ｍ、1分間に38ｌが出ます。今は１日に1 ,000l水が出ます、夏には3,000lが出ます。今年は12アールの畑の点滴かん水設備を作ります。点滴がん水は省力化で良い栽培方法です。

休日に紅葉を見に行きました、天気は曇りで山の色がちょっと薄かったけどきれいでした。又行きたいです。

I only grow Shine Muscat, a Japanese variety.  In October I got other table grape varieties, Brazil, Honey Venus, Wink, Ruber Muscat and Black Olympia. Grapes have many flavors, aromas, colors and shapes, because of extensive selective breeding. I like grapes with higher acidity than Shine Muscat, so it was great to taste other grapes.

最近は気温が下がりました、ブドウの葉が落ちます。畑かんを使ってかん水するハウスがあります。11月16日から30日までは畑かんが使えないです。

Just finished cutting the logs. The last one was the biggest, and the most difficult to cut. It is thicker than the chainsaw blade, very heavy and laying on the ground. I made halfway cuts, rolled it over and cut from above again. It was my second day using a chainsaw.

Recently I finished the soil amendment work, and now I have time before the pruning season in December. When we moved into the house last year, there was plenty of firewood for the wood burning stove. Last year the stove was the main heating appliance we used. It is possible to buy seasoned firewood, but it is expensive. So I decided to stock the firewood for next year.

For the job I got the tools, a chainsaw, a splitting maul, a big hammer and wedges. A couple of day ago I bought over 1.5 ton of hard green wood, but it was not cheap. The logs are 170 cm long and up to 40 cm in diameter. It is going to take a while and sweat to split all that wood. But learning how to do it is fun too.

まだ天気が良い、でもだんだん寒くなて来ました。気温が下がると紅葉が進みます。畑によて少し違います。土壌改良途中ですがボチボチやっています。

大分日が短くなりました。寝る時間が長くなりました。
